Crafted in 18ct gold, this Victorian double-headed snake ring is rich in maritime history. The engraved inscription to the inside of the band reads 'J. Hosking from the passengers S.S ORMUZ OCT. 30. 90' documenting its presentation to the chief steward by grateful passengers aboard the R.M.S. Ormuz, a vessel celebrated as the fastest of its time. The 1890 London to Sydney crossing carried distinguished travellers including Australia's national cricket team and the Governor of Western Australia.

‘At the close of the voyage the passengers expressed their appreciation of the courtesy shown them by Captain White and his officers, and of the attention paid to their requirements by the medical officer, purser, and chief steward. A neatly engrossed address was presented to the latter.

One of the nicest Victorian snake rings I have come across, the craftsmanship is superb. Each serpent head is adorned by a natural ruby and delicate seed pearl

Returns

Should a return be requested the customer must notify by email within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel and a return address will be provided. They then have another 14 days to return the goods. The buyer is responsible for the return shipping costs. Returned items should be sent fully insured with any returns from outside of the United Kingdom shipped with the correct and accurate customs forms clearly marked as a UK RETURN.
